A brand new community park will be introduced to the town of Moosonee, ON, with the help of the Greener Tomorrow program.

Enthusiastic runners from The North West Company and Winnipeg’s larger business community gathered at the Forks in Winnipeg on June 28 to take part in the 2nd Annual Healthy Horizons 5K Fun Run.

The community member from Arviat, NU, was the lucky winner of a $200 prize after participating in the Indigenous Language challenge.

A community-wide barbeque was held in Coral Harbour, NU, in celebration of national Indigenous Day. The Northern store partnered with the Coral Harbour RCMP to host and provide food for the event.

Thanks to a Greener Tomorrow grant, the Northern Village of Kuujjuaq was able perform a community cleanup with help from children in the community.

The new Shamattawa Northern store officially opened on May 18 with a celebration that included a ribbon cutting ceremony, special presentations, contests and giveaways.

Youth from Cross Lake, Poplar River and Split Lake, MB had a chance to explore their heritage, culture and traditional teachings through the Mikinak-Keya Spirit Tour – a distinct cultural experience at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
